TENORES REMUNNU ‘E LOCU

Il gruppo nasce nel 1974 a Nuoro.

Attualmente è composto da: Daniele Cossellu, Capo Gruppo; il suo ruolo è quello di "Oche" e "Mesu oche" (Voce solista e mezza voce); Mario Pira, "Bassu" (Basso gutturale); Pier Luigi Giorno, "Contra" (Controvoce gutturale);Dino Ruiu, "Oche" e "Mesu Oche" (Voce solista e mezza voce). Da quarant’anni il gruppo opera ininterrottamente, dedicandosi alla ricerca delle tradizioni culturali locali e, in modo particolare, del canto a Tenores.

Nel 1995 in collaborazione con il Comune di Bitti per tenere viva la tradizione, costituiscono a Bitti la Scuola dei Tenores, aperta a tutti i giovani del paese per insegnare le metodologie del canto a Tenores. Nel 1997 la scuola a Tenores di Bitti si gemella col Conservatorio Musicale di Sassari praticando diversi scambi culturali. Ha vinto per sei anni consecutivi il Festival del Redentore di Nuoro, categoria Canti a Tenores. Vanta apprezzamenti di rilievo sia in campo nazionale, con esibizioni e concerti effettuati in tutta Italia, che in campo internazionale.

In queste tournée ha avuto modo di farsi conoscere ed apprezzare da vari etnomusicologi che lavorano in ambito nazionale e internazionale. Il “canto a tenore” è stato riconosciuto dall’UNESCO tra i capolavori italiani del patrimonio orale e immateriale dell’umanità.

I Tenores di Bitti Remunnu ‘e Locu sono straordinari esecutori e negli ultimi quaranta anni sono stati dei veri e propri ambasciatori del canto tradizionale Sardo, contribuendo a diffondere questo genere musicale in ogni angolo del mondo.

The group was born in 1974 in Nuoro. Nowadays is made up by Daniele Cossellu, Leader. His role is Solo voice “Oche” and half voice “Mesu oche”; Mario Pira guttural bass “Bassu”; Pier Luigi Giorno guttural counter melody “Contra”; Dino Ruiu Solo voice and half voice.

For forty years the group has been operating continuously, dedicating itself to the research of cultural local traditions and, in particular, of canto a Tenores. In 1995 in collaboration with the Municipality of Bitti, it set up in Bitti the “Scuola dei Tenores” (“Tenores’s School”), opened to all the young person in the country to teach the methodologies of canto a Tenores to keep the tradition alive. In 1997 the school in Tenores di Bitti is twinned with the Music Conservatory of Sassari practicing different cultural exchanges.

For six consecutive years it won the Redentore Festival in Nuoro, category Canti a Tenores. It boasts important appreciations both in the national field, with performances and concerts performed throughoutItaly, and internationally.

In these tours it had the opportunity to make itself known and appreciated by various ethnomusicologists who work within the scope pf national and international field. The "canto a tenore" has been recognized by UNESCO as one of the Italian masterpieces of oral and immaterial heritage of humanity.

The Tenores of Bitti Remunnu 'e Locu are extraordinary performers and in the last forty years they were real ambassadors of traditional Sardinian singing, helping to spread this musical genre in every corner of the world.
